DAVID WOOD - DIRECTOR

David is a Glasgow-based, Ayrshire-born director. A recent graduate of the directing strand of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s MA Classical and Contemporary Text course, he has worked alongside some of Scotland’s most innovative theatre companies including Visible Fictions, Borderline and Bard in the Botanics. His recent work includes A Beginner’s Guide to Populism as part of the Voila! Europe festival and Happier or Better?, a newly-commissioned work by award-winning playwright Lynda Radley. A grateful recipient of the Dewar Arts Award for emerging talent, David is a passionate advocate for making quality theatre accessible to all, regardless of economic or social background.
David has spent most of his time in the rehearsal room trying to distinguish Populism from reality. It’s depressingly hard.
